Welcome to Cisco Networking Academy

The Eritrean Cisco Regional Academy was established between the Communications Department (MTC) University of Asmara (UOA) and Cisco Systems UK branch. The contractual agreement was signed in October 10, 2001.

Cisco and UNDP have played a big role in the establishment of the program. 

The Internet and education will be the great equalizers of the next century, creating enormous opportunities for people and countries that succeed in harnessing the power of information and knowledge. But the lack of Internet-supported education and shortage of technology-savvy workers are global dilemmas, threatening to place nations that fall behind at a permanent disadvantage in the new economy 

The Cisco Networking Academy Program is a timely response to these challenges. It is a highly successful alliance among Cisco Systems, Academy curriculum sponsors, private institutions, education, business, government, and communities. Through an innovative partnership with educational institutions across the world, the NetworkingAcademyprogram is preparing students for the demands and enormous opportunities of the information economy, while creating a qualified talent pool for building and maintaining networks.

The Eritrean Regional Cisco Networking Academy has many futureplans but two of the outstanding ones are:

·Strengthening the CCNA program and introducing CCNP training

·To launch Local Cisco Networking Academy program at the Universities affiliated junior Colleges, which are at Halhale and Dengolo.

·To introduce Cisco sponsored Curriculumsuch as Unix, Java, Networking Essentials, Adobe and other IT training. 

As a RegionalAcademy, we have a plan to offer Local Academies Instructors CCNA training to provide Instructors training and support to Local Academies within the region. The Eritrea RegionalAcademyalso ensures healthy academy partnerships with Cisco Systems Inc. by maintaining Quality Assurance Plans. The teachers at the CiscoRegionalAcademyhave been through extensive training in CATC.

The Cisco Networking Academy Program is a partnership between Cisco Systems, education, business, government, and community organizations around the world

The Cisco Systems Networking Academy Program is a complete, four-semester program on the principles and practice of designing, building, and maintaining networks capable of supporting national and global organizations. The Networking Academy is localized to individual needs of high schools and junior or community colleges, and features hands-on, project-driven training in high-demand job skills.
